DCA - Danish Chiropractors' Association
The Danish Chiropractors’ Association is a professional union and representative body for chiropractors in Denmark. The association was established in 1925. Today the association represents almost 700 members who are working as chiropractors in Denmark or are studying chiropractic. Since 2006 the chairman of the board of the DCA has been Peter Kryger-Baggesen.
Institute of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics, University of Southern Denmark
The Institute of Sports Science and Clinical Biomechanics is one of six institutes at the Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Southern Denmark. The research focus of the institute’s 160 employees including the 61 PhD students is physical activity and health with a special focus on musculoskeletal health. Research activities range from basic science laboratory research in muscle physiology and joint biomechanics over clinical research and clinical trials in the areas of osteoarthritis, back and neck pain, public health interventions in the form of physical activity and exercise to population-based epidemiological research based on Danish registries like the Danish Twin Registry. Researchers at the institute produce around 200 international scientific papers and books per year.
The Spine Centre of Southern Denmark, Hospital Lillebaelt
The Spine Centre of Southern Denmark is the main medical and surgical centre for the diagnosis, treatment, teaching and research of non-inflammatory back pain in the region. It is an integrated part of both Lillebaelt Hospital and the Institute of Regional Health Research, University of Southern Denmark. Researchers at the Spine Centre perform clinical and epidemiological research using the medical database SpineData, the surgical database Danespine and project-specific data, including clinical trials. Furthermore, experimental pain research and the CHAMPS study of a Natural Experiment on physical activity intervention in school children are also based here.
